The City of Kettering’s Art in Public Places program commissions and acquires art that inspires our residents and visitors and celebrates what makes our community special.
Vision
The City of Kettering’s Art in Public Places program creates meaningful experiences for residents, encourages civic engagement, explores diverse subject matter, and offers significant aesthetic experiences.
Goals
The City of Kettering’s Art in Public Places program goals are to:
- Acquire and commission art that reflects the highest of aesthetic standards and ethics;
- Promote the value of public art as a civic resource;
- Enhance the city’s identity through art that reflects the diverse life experiences of Kettering residents;
- Integrate art into architecture, landscape and the urban fabric from the earliest stages of infrastructure planning;
- Engage the community through accessible educational programs that connect the arts with quality of life, including economic well-being; and
- Ensure the proper display, handling and maintenance of the collection.
