Longtime members Mohamed and Intissar Masoud share their Kettering Recreation Complex experience🏊‍♂️

The Masoud family has been a fixture at the Kettering Recreation Complex since January 2005. Mohamed, his wife Ruth, and their daughter Intissar have made the KRC an integral part of their active lifestyle for nearly two decades.
Mohamed and Intissar visit the pool twice weekly for swimming sessions, while Ruth and Intissar enjoy Saturday Zumba classes together. “Intissar enjoys swimming and she is good at it,” Mohamed proudly shares. Their commitment to fitness as a family is inspiring to both staff and fellow patrons.
The Masouds have deep roots in the community. Both Mohamed and Ruth are University of Dayton graduates who have called the Kettering area home for 25 years, following time spent living and working overseas.
What stands out most in conversation with the Masouds is Intissar’s special connection with our pool staff. “Intissar loves the pool staff because they are kind and helpful,” Mohamed explains. “She enjoys interacting with them and looks forward to seeing them every week. She often talks about them at home.”
While the family hasn’t faced significant obstacles in their fitness journey, they’ve appreciated the KRC staff’s assistance with minor issues along the way. Looking forward, Intissar continues working toward her impressive goal of completing 50 laps in the pool.
The Masoud family’s parting message reflects their positive experience: “Please keep up the good work you’re doing. We appreciate the cleanliness of the pool and the professionalism of your staff.”
We’re honored to spotlight the Masoud family and thank them for being valued members of our KRC community!
