Happy Friday! This week’s featured fitness patron is Dick Meyer, who works out at the Kettering Fitness & Wellness Center with the goals of staying in good physical shape and living a healthy life. Congratulations on all your wellness progress, Dick!
Tell us about yourself and how long you’ve been a member of the Kettering Fitness and Wellness Center.
I am a native of Dayton. Proud alumni of Belmont High School and Indiana State University. I was a high school teacher and coach for 34 and a half years. Upon my retiring, I returned to Dayton and have been a member of the Fitness Center for the past 15 years!
What personal obstacles have you overcome and how did our fitness facilities help you through?
Believe it or not, I have had four major surgeries the past two years. I strongly believe being in good, physical shape helped with the recovery time with each surgery! Though I was limited what I could do or not do. I found a way to keep on moving!
Do you have any personal health and fitness goals, won a competition, etc.?
My goal in life is to try to maintain a healthy lifestyle, be strong in both physical and mental aspects of life. I should have added being “spiritually sound” also!
Is there anything else you would like to add for the highlight story?
Never have a “Poor Me” Day! Smile and enjoy each and every day!
