Jessica Graue Fitness patron

When Jessica Graue started group exercise classes at the Kettering Recreation Complex in 2021, she was seeking more than just a workout. A journalist, professor, and stand-up comedian, Jessica transformed her fitness journey with determination and humor.

A Remarkable Transformation

From 240 pounds to a steady 175 pounds, Jessica has lost an impressive 65 pounds and maintained her weight for over a year. “I’m incredibly happy with my progress,” she says. Now, she stays active playing in two Kettering Rec volleyball leagues and attending various fitness classes.

Finding Joy in Movement

What makes Jessica’s fitness journey unique is her love of laughter. “The laughter!” she exclaims about group classes. Her favorite is Larry’s Friday morning boot camp, where exercise feels more like a playful game. From boot camp to yoga, Pilates to BFIT, each class offers her more than just physical exercise.

Building Community

Despite never considering herself great at making friends, Jessica has found a supportive community at the recreation complex. “I feel like I’ve made some friends here that I will have for a long while!” she shares.

When she’s not breaking a sweat, Jessica enjoys time with her two dachshunds, Sadie and Penny (named after Beatles songs), and pursues her hobbies of coloring, painting, and reading.

Jessica Graue proves that fitness is about more than just physical transformation—it’s about finding joy, community, and yourself along the way!
