Kettering Fitness Spotlight: Jay & Christopher Kost!
Jay and Christopher Kost have been members of the Kettering Recreation Complex since Christopher was just 5 years old, participating in various activities like Judo classes, ice skating, and enjoying the water park.
For Jay, physical activities have always been a top priority.
“If you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything,” he said, echoing an old adage.
But beyond personal wellbeing, Jay sees exercising as an opportunity to strengthen the bond with his son.
“It’s a great way for my son and I to spend time together,” he said, acknowledging the occasional online gaming session as well.
When it comes to tracking progress, Jay takes a unique approach. Rather than fixating on milestones or a finish line, he believes that simply showing up at the gym is a significant win.
“Personal fitness gains will follow without question,” he said confidently.
His goal is to instill in Christopher a lifelong love for exercise, allowing him to be “shocked at the progress he makes” over time!
Jay’s perspective on progress is rooted in his desire for both himself and Christopher to enjoy the journey of fitness.
“With exercise, I try to enjoy the journey, not focusing too much on milestones or ‘The finish line,'” he explains.
Ultimately, the Kost duo’s primary goal is to build discipline and strengthen their bodies and minds through their workouts together. Their dedication to an active lifestyle and the father-son bond they’ve cultivated through exercise serves as an inspiration to fellow members at the Kettering Recreation Complex!
