Silver Lining at Rosewood Arts Center
The City of Kettering’s Art in Public Places is excited announce that Silver Lining, a new public artwork by artist Sujin Lim, was installed at Rosewood Arts Center on April 8, 2025.
Silver Lining in Good Company features a pair of playful sculptures crafted from polyester resin and fiberglass, depicting an abstract human and dog, both with cloud-like heads. Standing 9 feet tall, these imaginative figures add a playful and welcoming touch to Rosewood Arts Center, aligning with its mission to enrich the lives of community members through creative experiences.
Commissioned as a part of the multi-year Rosewood facility renovation project, a call for proposals was issued in 2023. The Art in Public Places committee reviewed 38 submissions for permanent artworks that would offer a unique and meaningful visual experience for visitors. After thoughtful deliberation, Silver Lining was unanimously chosen for its originality, welcoming nature, its seamless alignment with Rosewood’s vision, and its imaginative, uplifting concept that brings a sense of joy and inspiration to the space.
Created by Brooklyn-based artist Sujin Lim, Silver Lining is a significant artwork in her public art portfolio. Of Silver Lining, Lim wrote “How can public art play a role in visualizing the dreams that we can dream together?...I attempt to create a sculpture delivering a positive and aspirational image for the site….I believe we need artists who integrate new sensations and emotions into the built environment.”
Silver Lining in Good Company will be installed in April 2025. A meet and greet with the artist, Sujin Lim, will take place on Tuesday, April 8 from 4 - 5 p.m. at Rosewood Arts Center.

AIPP is funded by a 1% for the arts model to enrich civic spaces throughout Kettering and is overseen by an 11-member committee of residents, elected officials and art advocates. To date, AIPP has commissioned and placed over 28 artworks throughout Kettering’s public spaces.
